Oftentimes in life you can't always live up to your expectations, turning down a request you're capable of giving or refusing to show you are caring or prove your loving heartedness is an indispensable aspect of personal life of formidability against the unconsciously building up life's odds and fortresses; beating life or men at the other end of moral spectrum by their own game. Extremely kind-mindedness is one of man's toughest beguilement by the dark beings to hold each of us with a good heart to eternal captivity that we all need to know about. In other words, it may comes in the form of having power, authority and all it takes to do anything and you simply just flaunt it because you can.
Christ's effort of self fortification through fasting and prayer was confronted by this height of deceitfulness. Also, many of us are so pitiful that we ended up pitied for. Position, power and newly gained consciousness comes with a great price and responsibilities and may be used to yoke us if we are not circumspective enough about it.
Nevertheless, the other unconquerable strongholds that got most people permanently stuck in a place in life is to become, also, unconsciously brain wired that life is about just getting; they readily gravitate towards it that they don't know giving in the classroom of life is like a due we pay in the four walls of schools of life to gain access to write and pass exams and to get to be promoted to the next class. Writing and passing exams isn't enough to get ahead to finish victorious. Even if you do, without due payment you can't be certified just as, we ended up in life, no matter how much we have succeeded in amassing life's wealth, unsatisfied. To show love to others when the time demanded just caring for yourself alone gives room for the care you're lacking; don't stop yourself on your own way to your financial breakthrough by greediness. Many are dying surviving, fewer are dying living. There's pain in both ways, but one pays more than the other.
These, both, are the extremities we are bedeviled with, unknowingly, to be held back from making meaningful progress in life.
