So I’m back after a week-long holiday back to my hometown for my brother’s wedding. It was indeed a joyous occasion as family and friends from near and far gathered to celebrate their love.
While being at home, I also got to spend a good amount of time with my parents, met up with my grandparents, uncles, and aunties, as well as relatives. There is indeed a certain distinction between cultures and habits of different families, even among the same race – Chinese in this instance. Say, for example, the usage of chopsticks – I realized that some of my cousins don’t know how to use them, or prefer not to. While talking to my aunt, she also ‘complained’ about how her children don’t know how to speak in our dialect – Hakka.
Which leads me back to LEDGIT. Really looking forward to the app whereby users can input or retrieve data. Utilizing the power of blockchain technology, I believe it was go both far in both depth (how detailed and personal the information can be) and width (reaching a huge community and long lost relatives unknown to us).
Aside from the usage of family traditions, I discovered that LEDGIT aims to help consumers when we consume goods. Personally for me, here in Malaysia we often encounter counterfeit products, at times of high quality! When I spend a huge sum on buying shoes or bags (for my wife), I definitely want to make sure I’m getting what I pay for.
As they recently shared at the recent blockchain convention, LEDGIT aspires to provide the digital flow of products through the blockchain network. As the goods go through the physical flow from the farmer – producer – distributor - retailer, then ultimately to us consumers; each stage is documented and kept in the blockchain network. When we scan the QR code, we’re able to access the origins and journey the products have undergone.
This is definitely a game changer, not just to us consumers, but also to sellers (be it brick and mortar shops, online shops or even second-hand sellers). Looking forward to sharing more about how LEDGIT can affect and assist businesses in my next post!
