When I am critical of leftists, I often hear responses from people to the effect "You're exaggerating, that doesn't sound like any leftist I know"
I think part of the differing experience is that most of you don't live where I do. That is in North California.
With that introduction: a committee formed by the municipal government of San Francisco would like taxpayers to fork over 5 million to anyone who is:
- Black, and
- Lived in SF between 1940 and 1996, and
- A convicted drug user or drug dealer
- Or a descendant of the above.
The proposal also calls for lots of other ways for Black residents of SF to claim their 5 million as well.
This isn't justice, this is just a way of winning the lottery if you were unfortunate enough to have parents or grandparents that were drug dealers.
For clarity: this is a proposal by the government of SF, this has not been implemented and I strongly suspect (and hope) that serious objections from the public will prevent it from being implemented.
