2.3 million people are in jail or prison for nonviolent drug charges, Imagine if marijuana charges under a certain amount weren't illegal imagine how many of the people shouldnt be in jail or prison the vast majority would be let go and now we have to be realistic if someone is caught with a lot of course they deserve time in jail but for like under an ounce there should be no charge. 93 billion is the amount of money spent on average a year on that 2.3 million people if they made marijuana legal in certain qualities imagine how much money we would save and should be spent on other things like medical research building new home funding schools and hospitals . and also a giant part is how it will affect the court system it would free up courtrooms and jail to help speed up the prosecution of violent offenders like murderers and rapists it would help free up resources courts use and that can help put truly evil doers in jail hopefully for a long long time and it will help free up police officers on duty and at stations from dealing with people and petty drug charges that would only put a person away in jail for a couple of months.
And finally of all rules and regulations cause of course we would have to find a way to regulate and control these substances in some way or another like how cigarettes at 18 or alcohol at 21 like setup and age limit but of course that isn't a perfect way of doing it but with all controlled substances if people want it they will get it were basically in a modern day prohibition against marijuana i mean it will be legal in all states one day so why not start today. Were a modern country moving into modern times and we will need to use modern solutions to solve our modern problems.
