Lego Siege TanksteemCreated with Sketch.

in lego •  8 years ago  (edited)

Lego is my hobby. I create vehicles from games and scifi movies using Lego pieces. Here is what I did in this theme with Star Craft games unit "Siege Tank" This project was done in 2011-2012.

Functions
Main function is obviously the transformation from driving mode to siege mode. This includes rising the tank on top of the tracks. Tank can be driven using Lego ir-controller. Turret can be rotated and raised and it can shoot two rounds.

Finished tank uses about 5000 unmodified original Lego Technic parts.

More my creations can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/drakmin/
Original build log (sorry for couple of missing photos) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/56444-moc-starcraft-2-technic-siege-tank/

My girlfriend tries to give the tank some scale

Turret detached, yellow parts are Lego pneumatic cylinders.

Hi, use http://www.bricklink.com/v2/main.page to sell Lego. It's like Ebay for Lego only. I use it all the time to purchase thousands of pieces in a colour I need :)

Oh nice ill check it out now. tyvm!

It's awesome. Have you got Twitter or FB page?

I don't have fb. These are the sites I've managed to keep pretty up to date:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/drakmin/
http://imgur.com/user/drakmin/submitted
https://www.youtube.com/user/drakmin/videos

Yes, I have seen these. I asked because I wanted to contact you there to verify identity to avoid someone using your identity. I'm going to contat you on flickr.

Ok! I will answer in Flickr. I tried to add my new accounts credibility here by posting one unreleased picture :D

Your designs are awesome. Did you work for Lego?

You should start with proper introduction on Steemit. Like this one, as example:
https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@allasyummyfood/7dek2o-hello-steemit-my-name-is-alla-i-am-a-youtuber-and-private-chef-with-my-own-show-let-s-do-this

I love Lego (and SC) and I am looking forward to it :-)

Yes, i'll do an introduction maybe later today. I quess I rushed my first post too much :D Also Lego is just a hobby for me though as a kid I wanted to work for them.

I found your previously unreleased image was part of the book Incredible LEGO Technic from links to kotaku and Amazon: http://kotaku.com/some-of-the-best-lego-uses-more-than-just-bricks-1651045658

Could you post a verification somewhere publicly so that more than just @logic can see please?

Is it okay to post a new photo of the tank with a date on paper next to it? I think the photo I made for Sariel's book is not released on internet before. I quess I'll do a proper introduction post with maybe some sort of selfie with my creations behind me or something :)

Sure go for it

Very nice! Have you made full building instructions available for this?

Unfortunately no. Creating 5000 parts instructions would take many months of hard work and I'm more interested nn doing new building projects :D One of my models has instructions though but it's a lot smaller http://mocplans.com/designer/drakmin/

I would love to see how you did some of the mechanic.
