Every year we have the same story when my son's birthday is getting closer:
ME: What do you want for your birthday?
JAN: Lego set!
This week he turned 11! Still he loves to play with his Legos and he has build his own little empire in his room. Yesterday we threw a family gathering and all the family members were told to bring Lego sets (or money for him to buy himself a new ones). Well... :D
Who can blame him? He just seems to enjoy them so much. Building it, playing with them and he even has weekly or monthly exhibitions in his room. Today I'm taking you to his wonderland. :)
He is mostly into Ninjago theme, collecting items from all 10 collections...
My favorite character is Garmadon, evil guy with four hands!
He even saves his money in a piggy bank, made of Lego bricks. Why does that doesn't surprise me?
I found an article on site www.welovebricks.com in which dr. Maryhan Baker explains important and powerful role that LEGO can play in supporting children’s promoting creativity, learning and boosting self-confidence. They are even talking about Lego therapy for children who have social difficulties and how they can improve their social competence and reinforce good behaviour. Sounds interesting and encouraging!
How playing with Lego supports child development
- Promotes Fine Motor Skills
- Learns you how to be persistent
- Improves Creativity
- Enchances critical thinking and communication
- Provides an opportunity to try new skills without fear of failure
Today, like every Sunday, he choose Lego figure of the week. Today it was this purple little guy. :)
And is there a better way to finish this post then one Lego joke Jan came up with?
On Lego box there is a note: from 7 till 14 (years). A blonde says:
They are lying! I managed to build this set in only five years!
LOL. Have a nice Sunday, guys!
And - don't forget: Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.
Kisses,
Matejka
That is awesome. I wish they had cool kits like that when i was a kid. My thing was G.I. Joe and ninja turtles. I am glad he is constructive and hands on, i think that is lacking in a lot of kids these days.

He is very creative, indeed! We also were creative back in 80's - trying to figure out how to play with the minimum of toys :D Thanks for your comment @doomsdaychassis :)

It's true, there are many benefits from playing with lego! My nephew still loves complex lego games and he's 15! :-)
