Sweet. My local LUG is little too political for me to get involved in their bulkLUG process. A lot of great people, but a handful of overly officious members that seem to think they are CEO of a major organisation rather than a group set up for likeminded adults.

Oh jeez, it's like that everywhere? Our LUG literally started a group within a group and even referred to themselves as the Illuminati. (I'll be it jokingly) That was enough for me, I could have gotten all of the parts cheaper on bricklink anyways. It was fun displaying and a lot of the members were great, but overall not worth it.

Yeah, our LUG has a 2 tier membership system, whereby only full members can be part of a LUGBulk order and associate members only get to be full members by invitation from the other full members. It has a bit of a highschool clique feel to it at times, but I do enjoy interacting with most of the members, and I've made some pretty good contacts among them (and a couple of full members have told me they are happy to order on my behalf in a LUGBulk if I want to, so it's not all bad.
