Hauhechel-Bläuling ■ Common Blue

Polyommatus icarus (Rottemburg, 1775)

Dieser Bläuling zählte vor einigen Jahren noch zu den Häufigsten. In den zurückliegenden Jahren hat aber auch er sich rar gemacht. Sicherlich kann ich ihn noch jedes Jahr regelmäßig entdecken und stellenweise auch noch in größerer Stückzahl finden. Die Tage, an denen dieser kleine Schmetterling die Wiesen dominiert hat, sind längst vorbei. Er ist ohne jeden Zweifel auf dem Rückzug.

This common blue butterfly was one of the most common a few years ago. In the past few years, however, it has also become rare. Surely I can still discover it regularly every year and in places I can find it in larger numbers. The days when this little butterfly dominated the meadows are long gone. Without any doubt it is on the retreat.

In den vergangenen Tagen habe ich meine Datenbank nach Bildern durchsucht und natürlich zahlreiche Aufnahmen wieder entdeckt. Eine kleine Auswahl meiner Bilder möchte ich mit diesem Beitrag vorstellen. Die nachfolgende Aufnahme zeigt ein Männchen an seinem Ansitz am Morgen. Die Tautropfen glänzen wie kleine Perlen auf den Flügeln.

In the past few days I have searched my database for pictures and of course I have rediscovered numerous shots. A small selection of my pictures I would like to present with this article. The following picture shows a male at his hide in the morning. The dew drops shine like little pearls on the wings.

Die Weibchen sind intensiver gefärbt und man kann sie durch ihre braune Tönung gut von den Männchen trennen. Sehr schön ist das Licht bei der nachfolgenden Aufnahme. Der Flügelsaum beginnt im Gegenlicht zu leuchten.

The females are more intensely colored and you can easily separate them from the males by their brown tint. Very nice is the light in the following picture. The wing seam starts to glow in the back light.

Bei dieser Aufnahme hat sich eine Schafgarbe perfekt in Szene gesetzt. Der Falter hat dies bemerkt und sich genau diese Erhebung zwischen dem Atlant als Ansitz ausgesucht.

In this shot, a yarrow has set itself perfectly in scene. The butterfly noticed this and chose exactly this elevation between the Inula hirta as its seat.

Dieses Weibchen hatte ich einen filigranen Halm als Schlafplatz ausgesucht. Der kleine Falter war noch im Schatten, als ich in fotografiert habe. Mit einem Reflektor habe ich die Flügelunterseite aufgehellt, um die Kontraste zwischen Vorder- und Hintergrund etwas abzumildern.

This female I had chosen a filigree culm as sleeping place. The little butterfly was still in the shade when I photographed her. I used a reflector to lighten the underside of the wings to reduce the contrast between foreground and background.
