Letizia Marsili, Italian with mutations gene do not feel pain

Scientists discovered that there are families in Italy less prone to pain. For example, not noticed even if broken bone fractures.

And this symptom was named Marsili syndrome from the family surname.

This symptom is inherited, and the gene "ZFHX2" is mutated. Many people still do not understand pain more often, but it seems that "ZFHX2" is known to be related to pain.

If we know the mechanism of "ZFHX2", our treatment method will change in the future, and it may lead to relieving pain more commonly by the general public.

Mrs. Marsili, 52 years old, a professor at the University of Siena in Italy. She has written about her experiences and family.

When I was a child, I had a terrible injury. I remember I fell down from the bicycle and the nail stuck in my chest. I felt the pain but it was only for a short time. There was pain sensation. But it was only a few seconds.
Because I know my body, I do not want to feel any more pain. I do not want to feel anything painful now.
I would like others to think that there is a possibility of relieving pain. I do not want to capture me like a superheroine. By studying this condition, a new treatment method for chronic pain may be found.

My sons have the same symptoms. Because I was less likely to complain of the pain than other children, I think that raising children was probably easier than elsewhere.
I hope there will be progress on pain research. It is also about how to treat future chronic pain.

It is the function of animals that feel the pain, in order to fulfill the role of a signal to inform poor places.

However, I do not want anyone to feel pain. From her genes, it is good to find a way to save those suffering from pain.
