Review of Restoran Thaqwa Corner

There is a type of cuisine in Malaysia called "Mamak" food, which is thought to come from the Indian word for "uncle". Literally "Uncle's food" in Indian. Mamak places In Malaysia serves Muslim Indian food, therefore is a go-to place for all types of people except Hindus and Vegans perhaps.

The mark of a Mamak place is that it has to be:

  1. Cheap, dirt cheap in fact
  2. Open 24 hours. If you can't eat there after a night of drinking, it's not Mamak. Yes, Malaysians have to eat after they get drunk before going home.

We ate for 3 person and ended up paying RM11.20. Less than $3 USD.

Mamak food is very high in cheap carbohydrate though. Be prepared to get a bloated tummy everytime after you eat.

Open all hours.
