Peanuts and Hookers

Greetings from the LGBT campground! It is hot and humid here in south Georgia, but the pool and free beer should help me cool down a bit. There will be the usual potluck, tea dance, and show and games, but I am going to take it easy because it is too hot for me. A day on the porch watching fish jump and dragon flies skim the pond is enough for me. A guest said they saw an alligator in one of the lakes. Possible but not probable. The lakes are over-stocked so a few could come up and make a nice vacation with all you can eat fish. It is too hot for me to fish so come on gators, have at it.

I am not the only one hot and bothered. South Georgia peanut farmers are ready to beat Trump to a pulp. Mad as hell because peanut prices will plummet as the market will be flooded with under-priced produce due to tariffs. Oh well, at least boiled peanuts will be cheaper than a Slovenian hooker at the end of her money making years - it doesn't take much to get either into the sack! Peanut farmers haven't had it so good since Georgia enacted a no immigrant law, so to speak, and crops died in the fields because it is not that easy to get Americans to work in the hot, sun baked Georgia fields for $2.50 a day. Imagine that. At least jobs won't be lost due to the developments. That is the good news. Family peanut farms will probably be lost, but oh well, Murica, and this year's crop will be cheap. Farms too unless they pick a new crop not on tariff lists and can afford to buy all new machinery. What is a measly million dollars or so to change crops?

If you aren't Southern, or never travelled through the South and stopped at roadside stands advertising hot boiled peanuts for sale, you have missed out on a delicacy. We take green peanuts, they must be green uncooked peanuts in the shell, and dump them in a pot of heavily salted water and slow cook them. You can add seasonings but I do not see the point. Delicious with a cold beer. Soft and squishy ones are the best. I recommend them. Old Slovenian hookers I could not recommend - they look dry, crispy, and bitter. Yuck!
