Ron DeSantis (Governor of Florida) has banned Transgender athletes from playing in leagues that are not of their gender here in the State of Florida at the very start of Pride Month.

Some students and athletes have been very vocal about their opposition to having biological males competing in their female leagues and that has garnered the attention of the Republican Party in the State of Florida. Many believe that it is completely unfair for boys, who claim they are girls, to be competing with females while also receiving chemicals that alter the hormones of these athletes. In numerous individual cases throughout the country, biological males, who are transgender people, have been outcompeting female athletes and have been breaking records as "females". Thus, taking away the opportunities that young biological females have tried to achieve themselves without the use of hormone altering drugs.

Earlier today, Ron DeSantis has signed the bill which prevents transgenders from competing in these leagues. These restrictions do not apply to their own leagues, as these individuals are free to establish a new league with new rules that accept transgender athletes.

What do you think about transgender athletes competing in male or female leagues?

I think it's dumb to put that much importance on sports. But I've always been in favor of letting people associate with whoever they want, and not associate with whoever they'd rather not.

Yes, this means I would respect "whites only" clubs, as well as "blacks only" clubs, and "female only" teams, as well as teams that let anyone play. I think the smartest solution is to simply divide into leagues of similar ability-- keeping sex or "gender" out of it entirely.

Every human alive has equal and identical rights. Those rights don't include imposing yourself on others. You can cosplay as the other sex, but if someone notices you aren't what you claim to be, you need to move along and find a different team (or whatever) to play against.
(Just in case it isn't clear, I don't think sports is any of government's business.)

There wouldn't be such discussion about government banning this or that (including transgender athletes) if it didn't try to control everything.

That being said, I'm still hesitant. Has an XX human ever won against a XY human with comparable levels of training?
