In connection with the preparation for the ICO of our United Minds project, we are often approached for clarification on various issues related to our project.
There were and are many questions on which we gave explanations, trying to maximally intelligible explain our idea and its implementation.
On frequently encountered questions, we gave explanations in the posts on Reddit, Medium, Steemit, Facebook, Golos, Twitter.
But there is one question that we were asked a little, only 3 people, to which we could not answer. The team is divided in opinions and therefore we appeal to you for help.
And the question was:
Will there be a special mark in the profile indicating the owner's belonging to the sexual minority?
In heated debates, we did not come to an unequivocal opinion and singled out four main opinions.
Yes, it is necessary for the profile to give an opportunity to indicate belonging to a sexual minority. Rationale: Due to the persecution of LGBT representatives in many countries of the former USSR, universities, for example, are favored by European universities, and therefore it would be right to indicate such belonging that would contribute to the protection of their rights and freedoms.
Yes, but, indicate this only as a sex. Once we divide into a "man" and a "woman", then also indicate sexual minorities as a kind of gender.
No. You can not specify a difference in sexual preferences in the profile. If nature created everyone equal, then it would be discriminating to distinguish between sexual preferences and the attitude of both LGBT community representatives and those who do not. Everyone should be given the opportunity to enter the university not by sexual division, but by knowledge and talent.
No. Since from the platform to unite talented guys and assist them in training, we will turn into a dating site.
Well, that's how it is. I would like to hear your objective opinion. We will be very happy if you help us to resolve this issue, so as not to offend anyone and be exceptionally tolerant towards everyone.
