Former WWE wrestler Kane, AKA Glenn Jacobs - a self described Rothbardian anarcho-capitalist - is being elected mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

According to Knox News, out of Tennessee; Glenn Jacobs (formally known as KANE from the WWE) was elected Republican nominee for Knox County mayor Tuesday May 1st 2018. The political newcomer defeated Knox County Commissioner Brad Anders by 17 votes, 14,633-14,616.

Reportedly many of his campaign contributions were from pre-wrestlers and people associated with the WWE. Wrestler Ric Flair, also known as The Nature Boy, even visited Knoxville to campaign for him, the event was held at the Cherokee Country Club.

Jacobs is a Rothbardian who opposes any tax increase, saying during the campaign:

"’It’s going to go for roads,’ well, if that’s the case then our roads would be made of gold,” he said. “’It’s going to go for schools,’ well then all of our kids should have PhDs because we spend a lot of money on that.”

He has also written articles for a libertarian website, saying things like:

“If politicians were truly interested in fairness, they would eliminate coercive taxation from the marketplace altogether."

Regarding immigration:

“It is the existence of government welfare programs that are much of the problem, attracting people to this country who wish to live off the labor of others.”

Regarding taxing internet sales:

“As with all tax programs, it will transfer resources from the productive sector of the economy to the parasitic sector.The world is an inherently dangerous place. The idea that the government can protect us is patently absurd. All the government can do is to destroy our liberties while promoting the illusion of safety.”

Hopefully he will use the opportunity to spread the message of liberty and reduce government power as much as possible.
