Who is your Libertarian candidate and why?
Steem is full of Libertarians (and I mean the whole spectrum), so I was wondering, of all the libertarians here, who is everyone was supporting for the nomination? I'll start off by saying that I'm partial to McAfee because of his philosophical purity, the quality of his campaign, his cybersecurity background, and his ability to go toe-to-toe with Trump and Hillary. Johnson has experience, and is weird but seems like a reasonable moderate option. Peterson would get the alt-right youth, and the Constitutionalist crowd, but he seems too young and too absorbed in the liberty culture to draw in the mainstream. In my opinion, Trump would rip Johnson and Petersen apart... But I can see why people would be against McAfee, with his checkered past and all. I disagree, but feel free to tell me why I'm wrong! Hopefully this can spark a productive debate. Let's hear your opinions!
I'm not a party man but if it comes down to Clinton vs Trump I'll likely be voting Libertarian. I watched the entire Libertarian Party debate from The Blaze hosted by Penn Jillette and I'd like to see Gary Johnson get the nomination.
McAfee surprised me a lot and made some excellent, outside the box points and statements. But he's a bizarre person and would be a useful idiot of sorts for the two-party system to point at and say "See? These libertarians ARE crazy."
Peterson made some good points as well but he seemed too young and inexperienced, and his responses were too full of buzzwords and sounded rehearsed. His presentation of himself reminded me of the biggest thing I dislike about Hillary, the lack of sounding genuine, though not nearly to her degree. To his credit his confidence is politically valuable.
Johnson has political experience, and his statements sounded more true to his own word and personal experience. I liked that he explicitly stated that if there were another holocaust, he wouldn't stay out of it. This speaks to a pragmatic flexibility that Peterson didn't seem to display.

I used to really be on the fence between McAfee and Johnson, but the reason I feel McAfee should get my vote is if it came down to the debates, I feel like Johnson would get too nervous and it would be really obvious he couldn't deal with the debate stage, let alone the presidency. Don't get me wrong, I like him, he just seems feeble to me almost.. McAfee would take on the other candidates and call them out with complete confidence, which I think would work out better in my opinion. He also is a great marketer, so I want to trust his judgement on acting the way he does. He's using a more radical version of the Trump strategy, but he has an element of philosophical consistency to him, and he has cybersecurity experience which is huge too. On Peterson, I completely agree with you. He's not really electable in my opinion.

I don't vote, but if I did, probably McAfee. His candidacy would bring lots of happiness and joy to the world because he is so weird and funny.

mcafee...because he understands the most important aspect of the current paradigm with respect to human rights means having true net neutrality. And do you think he would advocate encryption being illegal? Answer...he'd flip them off and say "not while I'm pres".
