In fact,i would argue the state should never force anyone to be locked up. No, dont let people that commit crimes run around freely, nore the cases for psychiatry that are a danger to themselves or others.
But BOTH should have the option to select to receive a morphine OD and opt out of prison/the psych ward that way.
This shouldnt be forced on them but if they rather want to be dead rather than being imprisoned or receiving psychiatric care, they should be allowed to do that. Will also be cheaper.
