It is a very basic and elementary observation of reality that still seems to so often elude
even the seemingly honest intellect or sharp-minded individual, and that observation is as follows:
People interact with the world based on what they believe is true or untrue about the world; their thoughts and beliefs directly affect every part of the reality they touch and influence, through their interaction with everything and everyone.
If someone believes they perceive another as an attacker, they might try to use force to stop that attacker.
If they believe they perceive a friend, they will respond to that person differently, in a gentle way.
If I believe voting is something good and useful, I will vote.
If I believe voting is both useless AND an immoral act that gives legitimacy to actions of pure evil, then I will NOT vote.
How did my ideas about reality change over time?
I heard other people sharing their ideas about reality, and I heard different thoughts other than the ones I used to hold in my own mind; I was able to see that my perceptions and beliefs had flaws and contradictions.
I changed my mind.
And so my actions in the world have altered.
And now I use MY words to influence and hopefully persuade others to change their minds.
And when they do, their actions in the world will change.
The only way we share ideas and thoughts is through our language.
Yes, that means talking.
Ideas are all that change the world because they’re all that people truly ACT on.
“You all just keep talking.”
“All this talking, but what are you doing?”
“You’re just talking about it, but you gotta do something.”
Talking is doing something.
Talking changes the world.
I’m so glad that my good friend Larken Rose did a lot of talking in the books he wrote.
I’m glad that Lysander Spooner spewed his thoughts in writing, in words, the way people do on Facebook and in blogs today.
I’m glad Frederic Bastiat and Rose Wilder Lane wrote their thoughts in books.
I’m glad Henry David Thoreau did.
I’m glad Ludwig Von Mises did.
Communication changes the world around us.
One of the best things you can do to effect change, is to become a better communicator.
Never stop TALKING.

This is so true! I wish i had a steem dollar for every time some statist told me that talking doesn't make a difference! The saying "The pen is mightier than the sword" holds true, except now it's the keyboard which is mightier than the gun.
