Jeffrey Wayne Banta: Traitor and Snitch

This man arrived not 24 hours before the death of LaVoy Finicum, secured a spot in the militia, and somehow ended up being in the freak show that is called "The Final Four." The last four to leave the refuge.

Not only did he call the FBI before leaving and begin snitching then, he flat out lied and used information he should not have had, having only been there for 24 hours before the assassination of LaVoy.

In discovery (a 302 form) we see Banta incorrectly name James Sparks as being a heavyset older man. We will not be disclosing the name of this man.

Nearly everything Banta says is a lie!

He was not the leader of Bravo Squad. Travis Cox was the leader, as we elected him. His callsign, Bravo One, indicated such. Banta was given the callsign of Bravo Three only because I did not want to change mine up. He was the lowest man on the totem pole at Malheur, period.

He was not at Malheur at the beginning. Corey Lequieu has asserted this many times.

Ryan Bundy was never in charge of any training.

The SALUTE training consisted of me telling him how to document any contact as he radioed in to command staff.

He was never trained in removing anyone from a vehicle. He was only told to drive the vehicle.

His only weapon was a Russian SKS, unmodified. He did not even have a full magazine when he arrived! I loaned him several stripper clips of 7.62x39 before his first and only rotation. He was placed at "back gate." Travis and B2 were in the tower. I was at front gate. Banta never entered the tower as it was abandoned due to sniper threats shortly after midnight on January 27.

My personal experience with Banta starts at his arrival and the announcement that he would be replacing a departing member of Bravo squad in the early afternoon of January 25, 2016. He accompanied us on a few training exercises and later was hazed when we posed for a unit photo with our departing brother. (We put a pillowcase over his head and mock executed him in an cliché ISIS style photo.) He again accompanied us on training the next afternoon and moved into my bunk area. The night of the 26th, I was stuck with Banta and David Fry on the "hill" and several times he almost lost his life because he pretended to be hard of hearing. These occasions were when he went down the hill to retrieve warmer clothes and a blanket and was challenged by a sentry and refused to answer. Had I not radioed the guard, he would have been killed. These actions made me highly suspicious of his intent and intelligence. If this entire situation has taught me anything, it is that I must always trust my gut.

He won and is now free, along with the Andersons, Shawna Cox and David Fry, who admits to having assisted ISIS in the Middle East.

The question that needs to be asked is, if I was closest to James and did not know his real name until after the indictments, how did this man know his name after seeing him for a grand total of maybe 20 minutes? And why would he lie to falsely incriminate James? These are not the actions of a Patriot but rather resembles what the FBI has been doing all along. What follows is discovery documents outlining that Banta provided intel in exchange for leniency. What he received was essentially a free pass.
