I'm all about tolerance, but tolerance crosses a line when it becomes compulsion and mandatory speech/behavior. Unfortunately, much of what passes today in society as "love and compassion" is actually just coercion at gunpoint. If a loving idea requires my time, energy, or money, and I do not want to give it to the people or the idea, and if I do not consent to taking the resources from others for the idea, then it is immoral and evil, a violation of my person and/or property, and not loving and compassionate. There is no victim when I do not consent to things that other people think I should consent to; it's really this simple―if there is no victim, then there is no crime.
Extortion at gunpoint is coercive, no matter how much love, light, and compassion that is sprinkled on top of it to make it look more enlightened and moral. Such over nurturing tendencies is the heart's essence of the modern day Progressives, Leftists, Cultural Marxists, and whoever else that thinks that their love and light has the right to take away from me, my family, and my property. Love and compassion never requires the aggressive use of force against others, and if it does, then it is within my rights to defend myself and my property from their so-called love and compassion―up to and including the use of equivalent force.
Sure, do all the loving things you want, and voluntarily help whoever you think needs it, but expect me to stand up against anybody who attempts to cross my boundaries to mandate how I should use my resources. I alone decide where my time, money, and energy will go, and to what projects and people are a good use of my resources, and no amount of coercion in the name of love and compassion will ever convince me otherwise.
What I can tolerate: live your life however you choose as long as it is not aggressing against people or or their property.
What I cannot tolerate: demanding that I (or others) should live my life how you think I should, and appropriating my resources for your desires at the threat of gunpoint.
