I did my undergraduate degree in co-operative business & my masters degree in business administration.
'Which one did you enjoy more?'
Master's, not even close.
'Why?'
Because it sheds more light into the real world. Let me explain.
In undergrad, life basically consisted of learning subjects well enough to pass a quiz or a test, doing homework that didn't interest me or sleeping thru lectures.
I'm sure you have gone thru this stage yourself some time in your schooling.
But as I finish up the Masters degree, I noticed something different.
It was predominantly made up of group assignments.
Group assignments that required collaboration, networking & communication skills.
The reason I enjoyed the masters degree more was because it gives a better insight into life.
Not sure how old you are, but trust me on one thing.... taking tests is the minority of life.
Will you have to prepare for exams for your career? Sure.
But will that make up the majority of your life? Absolutely not.
A big part of the real world is having the ability to deal with people.
Thinking creatively out of tricky situations.
And getting the right info from the right people.
'Well, what if I am not in a Masters program?'
Doesn't matter.
The same rules still apply to you.
Instead of blindly following everything you were taught in school, take some effort to stretch past your beliefs.
Life is much more than passing some man made exam. That only measures critical thinking & memorization.
True intelligence is defined by critical think, memorization, curiosity, mental toughness, empathy, social skills & much more.
Believe it or not, soft skills make up a good portion of your intelligence.
Tomorrow I will be releasing a video on what the soft skills are & the first day I learned to level up on it.
Hopefully it can help challenge your pre-existing paradigms.
