Date With Your Dark Side

It's just me and you.

You have a dark side, don't ya?

You know, that side that no one sees.

The side that you bury deep within you.

But the more that you try to bury it, the more it consumes your thoughts.

Yep, that side.

Believe it or not, that side is a crucial subject in understanding emotional intelligence.

This side is a part of you like the eyeballs that you are using to read this text right now.

But I'll be honest.

Who wants to accept something that's known as the 'dark side'?

Change your mindset.

From here on out, it's your personal side.

We all have vices.

That's what it means to be human.

Emotional intelligence is not pretty, but understanding of the subject is necessary.

But in order to leverage your dark side, I want you to ask yourself a question.

Identify your vice.

Now ask yourself, is it something that helps you blow off steam or is it something that you are reliant on?

Big difference.

If you are reliant, then you are on the path to destruction.

If you are using it to blow off some steam, then it's fine, as long as you are not being unethical, breaking your moral compass or hurting someone along the way.

No need to feel shame.

The person that seems perfect on the outside world is putting on an act.

We all wear masks.

If you aren't comfortable when the mask is off, then you will just go on a path of destruction.
