Turtles at the Crossroads

A tortoise seems to be lost in the city street at dusk. I almost run over it. Luckily, the animal is easily recognizable to avoid woe: it is protected by 'home' or shell (bony shell) is quite hard and very distinctive shape. I also choose to avoid the path.

On the Wikipedia site, it is explained that Turtles (in Aceh we called Baneng) are four-legged scaly animals belonging to the reptile group. The so-called animal race (order) Testudinata (or Chelonians). Now, this animal belongs to the category of protected animals.

The tortoise that I met before sunset was black. He crawled on the street like a traveler who just lost GPS. I parked a motorcycle not far from him. Then, approached him with a feeling of compassion. I shifted him a little to the side, into the bushes, to make it easy to find way home. At least, if there is a passing vehicle, he will be safe.

Because, not everyone knows the existence of that strange creature in the city. Moreover, on a dark night like shell color that protects his body, his existence is difficult to predict. It is not impossible he will be damned, either by car or motorcycle passing by, because his presence in the city unnoticed.
