With the help of my colleagues Joseph Jones and Victor Alonso, we hosted our first Washington, D.C. Power Hour, a friendship-based connection building event for the area's top professionals. We had a fantastic turnout at O'Sullivan's Irish Pub in Clarendon, and will be hosting our next Power Hour on a select Saturday in April. Message me, Joe, or Victor if you want to know more about this brilliant group we are building. We would love to have you!
While out viewing properties with a client of mine, we began discussing how to separate ourselves from the pack in regards to business, and life. This particular individual has had tremendous success in his career. "That's how you separate yourself from your peers. You do not have to be 2x or 3x better than them, you just have to make sure you're always 10-15% better. For example, if you're looking at a table with a bunch of ice-cold cokes sitting on it, but another ice-cold coke is placed on the table as you watch, your natural reaction is to grab the fresh one. Not that it's any different than the other ones, it's just 10-15% better." Motto of the story: Be the fresh one. (As told by Peter Stelnyk)
It seems as though every time I listen to the Cash Flow Ninja Podcast with M.C. Laubscher he is interviewing another individual who has completely transformed their life by leaving behind their 9-5 job. The common trend with these individuals is they realized they were giving someone besides themselves all of their time and energy. Our greatest asset is ourselves, and the more time and energy we can put into ourselves, the greater our lifelong payout. Personally, ditching the traditional paycheck has been the most liberating choice of my life. I believe if we find a way to do what we want or love, we begin to live on our own terms.
