[24h without electricity] What I have learned during a storm that left me without electricity!

Yesterday my town was hit by a big storm, people said that town haven't seen a storm so big and strong in the past 45-50 years. The storm didn't last more then 15mins but it was enough to leave 90% of the town without electricity, block many roads, kill atleast 8 people and leave 45+ injured.

The storm was barrely announced as a low chance of hitting so no1 was prepared, so here are a few things that I have learned and I think everyone should have/use them in cases like this.

• Always have a non-smartphone that you charge it take the battery out and leave it as an emergency, if it's non-smart the battery will last longer, if it haves a LED for camera it's even better can be used as a flashlight.

• Having an external battery charged placed somewhere for emergencies works aswell.

• Have at least 2 medical kits, for a bad injury or multiple people being injured 1 will never be enough.

• Plug-out everything that's using electricity to run, a thunder can easily kill them or even worse start a fire, I lost my tablet having it plugged for charging while thunder hit the pillar near my house.

• When you head out take care, there might be items falling, electrical cables down, watch out where you step.

• If the storm is hitting and you're inside stay away from windows, wind might shot items in your windows, I've seen a chair in my neighbour's door window.

Hopefully you'll never have to preapare or live a storm like this.
