One of the joys of living in a desert by @thedogekid

Monsoon season is here and it's about to get messy.

Especially if you are a swimming pool.

Every year about this time, the summer rolls in and so do a whole host of thunderstorms.

Bringing with it lots of wind, lightning, and rain.

It also brings some of the best light shows this side of the Mississippi!

It's officially official.

A few years back the monsoon season didn't officially start until the dew point broke 55 for 3 straight days.

Now, the weather service just said since it is a season it should have an official start and end date like other seasons do.

Hence, June 15th to September 30th has officially become, monsoon season.

Though, the biggest storms usually don't happen till about the middle of July through the end of August.

Bring on the rain!

Interestingly enough, where I am, we get 70% of our rain for the entire year in this short couple month stretch.

Sometimes dry river beds turn into raging rivers that sweep cars away if they are not careful.

All in all, it is a fun time to live in a desert.

Enjoy the monsoon season folks.

I know I will.
