Most people try to live their lives without violence and avoid the moments of direct confrontation. It's really wonderful, and if you can avoid any act of violence, always avoid it, but that does not mean to ignore the idea of learning self-defense. In fact, if you do, you will put yourself and your loved ones at risk.

As a whole, in our everyday life we communicate with rational and peaceful people. When a conflict occurs, in most cases you can smooth your disagreements by talking normally, but what happens when you are not dealing with a normal person or a normal person who has come to such a point that he does not care? What happens when someone gets mad to such a degree? What happens when you face someone who wants what you have?

You have the choice either to give up or to fight.

You may be as diplomatic as you want, but each person has some point at which emotions take over and the risk is not worth sacrifice. Everyone has someone he values more than himself. And when that moment comes and you are not at least a little prepared, you can only suffer. Like most people, you probably do not approve the physical clashes, but that should not stop you from being prepared for at least a bit.

For those who do not engage in such martial arts, there are many excuses for why you do not need to learn martial arts for self-defense. The most common reason is that it is police work. Still, the police are trained, have weapons and risk their lives. Its true that even in the most developed cities, the police can not respond immediately to any signal. Even if you call, it will take time for them to come, and as long as this happens, you will be in the hands of criminals. Policemen are there to prevent conflicts, but until they come, you need to know what to do to survive or at least get away.

Another justification made by those who defend pacifism is that if you fight, you will make the situation even worse by irritating your assailant. It's absolute stupidity - letting your fate into the hands of a sociopath is never a good idea.

The truth is that if you know how to defend yourself, you will increase your chance of survival.

When you fall victim to an attack of any type, you should know that in more cases the attackers have chosen you precisely because they think they are superior to you and will be able to fulfill their plans quickly, painlessly and as they want. It is up to you to show them the opposite, and if you know how to fight, they will be surprised. The sooner you start the counterattack and make their plans difficult to perform, the chance to escape are greater. The longer the conflict goes, the more criminals would be likely to leave. As predators, criminals want easy prey. Weak, small and with great value.

There are still people who are moral and claim to be violent when needed, and that they become as bad as their offenders, but they do not want to make bigger problems. This is not true in most cases, and everyone knows it.

Every bully will continue to beat the children, until one day someone does not answer with the same. Martial arts do not teach you to be a bully, they are not bad and in most cases they are not practiced by people who enjoy hurt others. On the contrary, the martial arts make you feel relaxed, confident and prepared. They learn to plan the worst, but at the same time aim for the better. When you understand this and have the skills, it is up to you to use them, and if you are protecting yourself and the weaker of you, you do nothing wrong.

Someday you may have to. Like the famous thought on guns: "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it."
