My High School Boyfriend, The Cow, & The Pastor

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Is bestiality part of Satanic stuff? If that's true, it makes more sense that my pastor was in my front room one day in 1968, when I came home from school in 10th grade.

I had been attending his church 3 blocks from my house with my boyfriend. My boyfriend had been asking him freaky questions lately, a lot. Persistently.

So I was moving on, dating others, but I still attended church with that boyfriend.

My parents never enjoyed being invited to any church nor did they enjoy offers to convert them, so coming home from school to find both my parents at home, in our front room with my pastor -- WTH!!!

I just said, "Hi" and kept walking.

They were talking and laughing and all that. Weird.

After awhile my pastor left. Mom came and asked if I knew why he had visited.
I said, "No! I did NOT tell him to convert you guys!"

She laughed. "He was worried about you."

What???

The pastor had called Mom earlier that day and asked if he could meet with them to discuss his concerns about me.

Mom agreed to meet that same day. She lined up Dad to come home from work, too. Mom wanted to know what I had done now. She waited in eager anticipation & dread. Mom believed I was the sneaky one -- I wasn't, but parents never know.

The pastor & his wife were good guys, and my parents thought so, too.
He arrived and started by telling them it was hard to contact them about this...

And he explained my boyfriend had been asking kinky questions about farm animals and such. He was worried that I was serious about this boy. That farm animal talk didn't shock my mom. Nothing like that shocked Mom. Plus I had already told her about this, and that my boyfriend was on my last nerve so I had started dating other guys.

The pastor was so relieved that my parents didn't hate the pastor for contacting them and suggesting my boyfriend might be a freak, and relieved that I wasn't at all serious about this guy.

And my parents were so relieved there was nothing going on that they didn't already know about.

So they all laughed and joked. Mom & Dad thanked him so much for having the courage to contact them. And I didn't understand what adults found so important about cow questions.

But Satanism would be a red flag for any pastor.

I didn't stay with that Southern Baptist church because they didn't approve of card playing or dancing. And the full immersion thing was a turnoff for me, too. But it was a cool church.

That boyfriend grew up, got married, and moved away, so I don't know how his life has gone.

But you never want to come home to a pastor or a cop in your living room.
