It is the human tendency to try everything which is considered illegal and unaccepted because breaking laws gives our mind a sense of thrill. Mind is a complex machine. It craves for the things that are difficult to get while it neglects things which comes to us easily, no matter how important they may be.

We like things which are rare or difficult to get. Rare and sensational things give us pleasure and breaking laws, gives thrills us. This behavior is manifested while someone uses drugs. As narcotics are very difficult to get and a sense of thrill is associated with their consumption, people, especially teenagers, attracted to them enormously. Narcotic substances are part of underworld business that earns a huge profit to drug dealers.   Scarcity of narcotics makes them highly profitable. When these substances are legalized in all countries, their consumption will decrease as this business will not remain profitable, provided everyone is allowed to synthesize and make them. Once profit is disassociated with this business, the empire of drug cartels will collapse.

Cannabis is used for recreational activities. It is highly addictive and large consumption of cannabis is very harmful. It is considered a narcotic substance but; it has some medicinal properties. It should be legalize in every country so that business of underworld may collapse and people may also get benefit from its medicinal properties.

Could you go into detail on how it is addictive and harmful? Links to peer reviewed studies from reputable universities would be a huge plus.

Your neighborhood sounds a lot like mine but I see things differently. These people who i assume don't do any work? I realized I don't see them at all times of the day. My idea of who they are and who they actually are, are separate things and i'm confusing one, for the other.

If you are fired from your job for drinking when you are at home and you have done your job correctly, this is injustice right? If you are fired from your job for smoking cigarettes when you are at home and you have done your job correctly, this is injustice right? Then it is the same for Cannabis. I work very hard at work and very hard outside of work on my own personal projects and I will tell you this my friend. I am always high. I get by fine, I am not lazy, I do not lament activity, in fact, I am present, friendly and more willing to listen, more willing to do my best work.

Perhaps there is another way to look at it. Maybe the stereotype you place on the people in your neighborhood is the thing weighing them down not the drug itself.

I believes on what I see. In my country many people are addicted to marijuana. Many have ruined their life because of it. I am not telling this because I have heard about it somewhere. I personally know many such people. In my neighborhood some people are addicted to it. They regularly use it and don't do any work. Some of them had nice jobs but they were fired because of their bad habits.Their family members are suffering a lot because of their habits.

Things are changing in our country as well. Removal of article 377 and 398 was a progressive step. However, we have many dogmas in India which we need to get rid of.

If coffee is legal then pot should be too, coffee as a stimulant amps people up and brings them down hard when they cant get any. Pot leaves your system slowly so you do not have these terrible effects. I think the current legal drugs are way more harmful than marijuana and way too many people overlook drugs they do themselves.

Compared to coffee, its not addictive. Try stop drinking coffee for a few weeks and let me know the feeling.

Coffee and tea are addictive and so as pot. However, pot has some harmful addictive effects as well compared to coffee and tea. I think addiction is the problem. I smoke and drink but I can live without having these things for months. It depends a lot on individuals.

Some people are weak minded and maybe it affects them worse, but I do not think banning it is the answer. Most people would benefit from its medicinal and recreational effects, and the small minority it could possibly hurt would need to live with that challenge.

I think people are addicted to pot like they are video games, binge watching tv shows or any other habit, but chemically its not addictive. Unlike coffee, tea, alcohol and tobacco which are all addictive chemically.
