Lack of social connection and smiling as a drug

in life •  8 years ago

I used to smile at everyone all the time. I don't know when it happened (probably after uni when anxiety set in), but I stopped. Now I feel really awkward smiling at strangers and I don't really know why. I've been thinking lately that I want to start doing it again.

Great article - I didn't know you could write like this. Very impressed.

I used to catch myself smiling at people and then immediately looking away so I do know what you mean by feeling awkward about it. Now, I don't look away and don't force it (the smile) and it doesn't feel awkward. I'm smiling for me, not them. If they want to partake, all the better. Both of us are happier.

oh tye, this is so eloquent . i love you so much! xo

Dad thinks you're alright as well.xo
