Daily Gratitude Journal #3 - A way out of depression and anxiety

in life •  7 years ago

Good morning Steemians, I hope you are having a great day thus far. My day is a little rough, my cat is acting as though he is injured so I have to take him to the vet soon. I get really stressed out when my best friend is ill or injured, not because of the vet but because he cannot communicate directly what is wrong and what he needs so he has to suffer through it. Sigh... I'm sure he'll be okay, I'm just a worrywart. Enough of the depressing stuff, here's today's gratitude list:

1. Life

I have a new found love for life after surviving an attempt to take my own life. Having chronic PTSD, I deal with bouts of depression and suicidal thoughts, but my view on life is to live like it's your last moment. Some days can be very difficult, but I press on. My mind is full of caverns so dark that any light is instantly consumed and extinguished, but I know there is hope now. I know I can find my way from this labyrinth and one day live a stable life.

2. Good Medicine

Here in the Pacific NW of the US, medicine is plentiful and potent. From wild foraging herbs and mushrooms to make teas and tinctures, to growing your own or purchasing them from a vendor, the medicine that is available here is phenomenal. Not to forget, the cannabis is plentiful and amazing. ;)

3. Abundance

All through my life I am overflowing with abundance where in the past I was not. I have a fridge full of food. My medicine cabinet has a plethora of oils, tinctures, salves, salts, and more. My funding is so abundant that I can finally start saving some. The love in my life is overflowing with abundance. Everywhere I look I find I am abundant.

What are YOU grateful for?

Great post, we underestimate our own ability to cure our mental ailments just by simply shifting our focus to more positive and constructive things. It's funny how quickly we can forget the darkness, if we focus on the light! Keep it up friend.

The mind is a highly powerful tool, when directed in the right way one is capable of much more than ever imagined. Thanks for your comment. :)

This is a beautiful list @alchemage. Today I am grateful for having the opportunity to rest and recuperate. It hasn't been the easiest of days over here as well but it feels good to take care of myself and just accept where I'm at.

I hope your cat gets better and I am wishing him/her the very best :)
