Last year, I was walking Rocky one afternoon when an incident occurred.
He bit a neighbor's dog, one which was a lot smaller.
The owners, a couple were upset, but forgiving.
They let it go, instantly.
They even patted Rocky and asked if he was alright.
They suggested that I muzzled Rocky from then on, which I didn't.
I spotted the husband once while he was walking his dog. We shook hands. He said everything was alright and that there was no problem.
Today, I ran into the wife, the one who was clearly way more upset back then.
We exchanged pleasantries.
She too, was alright with everything.
I wrote about this before, but I feel it's worth mentioning.
The couple had every right to complain to the administration. They had every right to be angry.
But yet, they let it go, instantly at that.
It wasn't easy for them, but they did it.
Truly, I've never been so humbled before. Most people always wanted payback, justice or revenge the minute they're wronged.
But this couple moved on without any kind of justice. I merely apologized to them.
Learn from them.
There're people who can truly rise above typical emotions.
And that's why they're happy.
Over half of dog owners include their dogs in annual holiday photos.
