It's A Humbling Experience, Remember That When You're Losing

in life •  7 years ago

On one hand:

You work so hard for something, but see no results.

You see some victories, but then you lose them in the blink of an eye.

You feel inspired one day, but feel like shit the next.

You feel a sense of progress, like finally, but then the newcomers seem to soar with little work and that makes you feel demoralized as hell.

Such a shitty feeling huh? It fucking sucks to lose.

Why should you continue doing the work?

On the other hand:

You're told to do the work regardless of how hard it is.

You're supposed to do the work without expectation of results.

You must have no excuses and do the work so you can stand out, supposedly.

You must grind to no end because it's just how it is.

You should be thankful for the struggle.

you should keep doing this because successful people all went through this shitty phase.

It still feels like absolute shit.

What do you do then?! Is this even human?! How the fuck do you exist this way?!

All I can say is...

No, it's not a must to suffer.

No, it's not a must to feel shitty.

No, feeling shitty isn't a prerequisite for success.

All of this is meant to humble you.

Why?

Because if you're arrogant or bullish, the success will go away just as quick as it came.

And yes, there're many people out there who claim to be successful through some quick and easy route, but when really, they're just full of shit.

They're hiding tons of difficulty today because of they couldn't hold on to the success.

So... hang in there.

Take a break now and then yeah? you get to. Chill and be happy.

Peace.

Good post

Too many of us set a goal, reach it then plateau.
Some even end up going backward.
That's when the shitty feelings begin.
A lesson I was given is to continue to what you did on the way up to get to your goal. Don't waste time basking in the false glory of "I made it!" but continue to make more, be more, set even bigger goals. Just don't stop.
