Triggers, Kinks And Deal Breakers

in life •  7 years ago

You know how many people seem to be "triggered" today that they seem to be offended by everything?

They're butthurt.

People mostly relate them to quasi-serious issues. It usually has to do with people who need their safe space, are transgender, trans-phobic, vegan or suicidal.

Of course, these topics are at its core serious, but it always get controversial since everyone has a different opinion.

It makes me wonder how about each and everyone of us has our own triggers.

Make a positive spin out of it, and it becomes a kink; an instant attraction of sorts.

And then we decide whether we want it or not ala deal breaker-style.

Take me for example:

When I go on a date with a girl, it's a major turn-off if she speaks too softly.

It just annoys me as I have to inch in super close, otherwise I can't hear shit. Despite that, the conversation is littered with my, "What?", "Excuse me?"

It may sound frivolous, but the fact is, it's a deal breaker to me. I wouldn't want to meet her again.

So I believe we all have our triggers.

It's just perhaps, the rest of us aren't that vocal about it and it isn't of high intensity.

Does this then, make all of us walking time-bombs?

Are we actually easily offended in our own way?

Are we all butthurt?

Too many people do not recognize what they control and what they have no control over. We cannot control other people. You can only control how you react to them. Acting out against people who do things we don't like is a fool's folly. If they are not doing illegal things or hurting you or others don't give them the confrontation they want and are looking for. Don't let an idiot control you.
