Hi,
I was thinking the other day on my virtues and my vices. Do I have virtues? I don't know, maybe yes as each one of us has something good inside. Do I have vices? Yes.
The sum of this two shape us and our character. Are we aware of them? Most of the time yes, it might be that the blindness caused by our pride and vanity, which are also vices, will let us never see what is holding us back.
Am I aware of mine? Of some, of course. I try not to hide them, as they will erupt ten fold. I try to live with them and to use them for the better.
Sometimes vices can be good, if they are not exaggerated. Obsession can be turned into focus, anger into power (not fear), envy into ambition, ambition into success.
Try to turn the vice that is destroying you, like drugs or alcohol into something else. Switch the direction and get a new addiction, a constructive one.
One of my vices is laziness. I have it, even if it is not seen anymore, it is still in me. I managed to turn it into efficiency. I try to make something fast and for most if not relevant, good enough to achieve it's purpose.
Another is anger. When I'm angry I go and pump iron. Testosterone ten folded.
I have so many others that I can't control, but I think in time I have only to be on them so that they can change into something good.
Do you have any vices?
