Good afternoon to all you great people who are reading this post. I realise I haven't posted in a little while and even longer since I posted anything that wasn't my artwork. However for the last couple of weeks I've wanted to write a post on something that I feel needs to be discussed.
Society's destruction of the young!
When does a dream become a nightmare?
How does one even start approaching a topic such as this? I think it would probably be best to start at the beginning of what I wish to discuss. A few years ago now I had Sky TV (UK) and there I noticed the regular adverts for a show called Dance Moms. And for the most part I thought nothing of it, but the more I saw adverts for it and news articles appear promoting it I start to feel very uncomfortable with this notion. Now I understand that many parents out there take their child to dance programs locally and see no harm in it. And I would largely agree that if a child expresses interest in dancing then there is no reason not to encourage this passion/dream, in the same way we allow children to enjoy other activities. But what I also started to notice was that these "Dance Moms" shows were, to my mind, promoting children in a very sexual light. And again some people may point out that any sexualising of children is purely in the minds of adults - but surely in this day and age that is the exact problem. Children don't understand ideas such as sex, provocative clothing and dancing (not to mention caked on make up).
However since I got rid of Sky TV I put all concerns about this out of my head for years, with the exception of occasionally mocking the show and everything about it. But it was a few months ago I saw something that, again to my mind, solidified the notion that this is all a show to sexualise kids with what seems like the permission and encouragement of their warped parents. The image in question that proved this all for me was a photo of a child (looking no more than 3-5) wearing an outfit designed to look like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. And now you tell me if "Dance Moms" and "Toddlers and Tiaras" is innocent!!
This image makes me want to throw up in my mouth, or at least what this image portrays. Isn't it bad enough that some "Dance" parents feel it is acceptable dressing their young girls in skimpy clothes and have them parade around but that some feel it is ok to dress them in a prostitute outfit. Why has it become so acceptable for parents to prostitute out their kids??? I for one think shows/organisations like this need shut down and investigated FULLY!!
Taking the easy road.
Before I move on to this part of my post I feel it is important to state that I myself have no children, therefore I do not know first hand the problems parents face.
Now what I would like to discuss here is the increased frequency by which young girls of all ages seem to be both wearing less and less but that what they are wearing has become more revealing. And that maybe wouldn't be as bad if the children I was referring too were at the very least 16+ but over the last few years I have noticed not only an increase young girls (as young as 6+) wearing tight mini skirts that most women I know wouldn't be brave enough to wear as well as skimpy tops and the tightest leggings. Even going so far as to wearing them in school.
I feel I understand why this has happened on at least a couple of levels. Firstly I believe that a lot of what has become normal for 'young' girls to wear anytime has it's origins in so-called fashion. As soon as a child sees an adult wearing these items of clothing they beg and plead to wear them also. After all kids these days are being pushed and encouraged to act, dress and behave as mature as possible, no matter how young they are.
This leads me in to the second point and that is their parents. Now I can already hear all you parents out there screaming at me things like, "What do you know, you have no kids, you don't understand!" and "How dare you tell me how to raise my child!" And you are completely right, but I am not in any way trying to tell you how to be a parent. All I wish to do is make an opinion known. Now I understand that I know nothing of being a parent but what I do know is that as a child my mother often did whatever she could to make sure I had everything I needed (or thought I did) even if it meant she had to go without. I would often whine at her with lines like, "I want those trainers because that kid has them!" or just generally complain until I got what I wanted. But I feel that this attitude of parents, no matter how well intended, is part of the cause for this rise in children dressing like adults going out for drinks at the weekend. Parents/Guardians will often acquiesce to their child for many reasons whether it be an easy life, making sure their kid isn't bullied for being different or simply trying to give them the life they felt they were denied. I believe that until parents learn and are brave enough to stand up to their kids, nothing will change.
No sex please, we're kids!"
My penultimate point would be this increased fervour to make sure kids get correct, accurate and relevant sex education. I have noticed a huge rise in the seemingly necessary sex education for children in primary school upwards. Now again I understand that it isn't my place to tell anyone how to raise their children but I also strongly feel that children need to be allowed to be children! I have watched videos talking about how children as young 5/6 (at least) are being given sex education that is vastly in advance of their years. Being educated about many subjects including pornography, BDSM and anal sex.
Now to some people an increased awareness of sex and it's intricacies is very important. And from someone who experienced terrible school sex ed, I partially agree. But the move towards teaching young impressionable minds subjects that they would most likely never even consider, is abhorrent. I also understand that the world nowadays has potentially paved the way for children to be more sexually aware, but does this mean that we should be teaching them more or does it mean we should maybe analyse the current state of the world as it pertains to sexual activity?? Here is a couple of links to hopefully illustrate my points.
Sex sells! But with kids?!
You may by now be asking where this heading could possibly be going. And no it's not about Pedogate and it's not about the rampart child trafficking industry, although it could easily be either. It was this subject that made me want to write this post in the first place. However I wanted to express more of my opinions that just about this point. That being said this is probably one of the sickest parts of the whole subject and it's not even subtle.
A question to all you parents of young girls out there - How would you feel if people put lingerie on your child so that adults could take pictures of them over and over again?? I feel confident that you would scream, shout and maybe go way beyond that towards those individuals!! But what if I told you that this will become the norm in everyday society unless we all stand up against it. About 2 weeks ago I watched a video created by a YouTuber called A Call For An Uprising and even though I don't always agree 100% with his opinions, I couldn't agree with him more on this point. He regularly posts on very controversial subjects and this is by far one of the most disgusting things he's posted about.
He talked about a fashion runway show that recently took place in China. Now this wasn't any ordinary fashion show, it was a Victoria's Secret fashion show. And the models weren't anything like you'd expect - they were kids as young as 5 modelling Victoria's Secret lingerie. And this was done completely in public so that anyone could see and photograph. They were expected to walk up and down the catwalk in the most revealing of clothes all the while adults are happily snapping pictures of these poor kids. Now even though I do not have children (I have nephews and nieces however) I personally think this is vile, disgusting and an excuse for as many paedophiles to come out of hiding. I will post a link below showing the A Call For An Uprising expose.
In summary
I realise that I have gone on a bit of a rant for a while so I will end this post with this last point. However there are many other examples of society, celebs and those with influence controlling how children are perceived in this world. I will end with one last video. It sets down what those in control wish to legalise and normalise in our world. If what this man says doesn't scare and shock you I would be both surprised and saddened.
And on that note I will finish this tirade and hope that I have left you all with a broader understanding of the sick and twisted world those in charge wish to leave for our kids. We all seriously need to stand up to all of this and say in one voice - "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore....!"

Thanks @scottish01. I was determined to get some of the information out there, especially the Victoria's Secret fashion show in China. Not to mention my distaste for all of these matters.
And thanks again for welcoming me back.
