It was George Santayana who said "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." I reflect on this as I pick up my son from the Ontario Science Centre. Not only from a cultural or political stand, but from our time with Crypto. Seeing various different Ponzi schemes in the future. Seeing exchanges go down in the past. Those of us who do not know history or understand or even learn from it are doomed to repeat it. It can be avoided, but how many are taking the time to actually act towards making a change. This can apply to all areas of our life. Whether they're relationships or our bodies, what we eat, how we think, our actions in the workplace/school/organizations. That's also why repeat offenders are so common. We are not learning from history. What's the solution? Just to do it. I think sometimes we make life a lot more complicated than it really is. If the mouse trap hit you once, don't step on it again. Still others, have a tough time adjusting and changing their ways.

I agree it is important ot learn from the past but blockchain tech really is something new and leading to new paths we have yet to explore.

Yeah. I think that's why it's important to stay as close to the news as possible so we don't repeat other people's blunders out there. Thanks for the input!

History is not a fun subject.
However, you focused on the lessons you get from the past here and that is absolutely correct. We should learn from our mistakes and even in our victories.

I totally agree. History can be very dark. And the sad thing is that we often repeat it. Not only in our personal lives, but for groups and organizations as well. Hopefully we can evolve past it :) sometimes it needs to hurt enough to never want to go there again, but often times for many people when that time comes, it's a little too late.
Thanks for your beautiful comment!

You are so right there.
Sometimes people do not care if theyd repeat history because they believe in second chances. Worst, in multiple chances for them.
Thank you so much :)

Yeah I was debating on whether to put it in @dlife - but initially when I made it I was thinking about all the cryptohacks and learning from those. Lol
Thanks for the comment nonetheless :)

We need to learn from history so as not to repeat the same mistakes, unfortunately a good number of us are not good students of history. Some folks have decided to do away with learning altogether and are just 'freestyling' through life.

Very true! Just like the Armenian genocide that happened in 1900's and Hitler said before WW2 "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians"?

This is a hard one because there are unfathomable variables at play in every single event in history from world wars to going to the shop to buy some milk. Everyone thinks differently to all kinds of degrees, some people who think in a similar way may be influenced by wildly different things. and two polar opposite may experience the same circumstance.
History does repeat but never in the exact same set circumstances and patterns, unless you force it so in a controlled environment. I would like to think that more is learned than ignored in each instance because we as a human race have developed so far, if we were doomed to repeat then perhaps we would be stuck inside an endless loop of stagnation?
Although it is hard to see what the central banks and policy makers have learned from history sometimes.
