10.30 am : My phone rings. Its a routine call from my bestie. I sit on my couch with a cup of coffee trying to figure out the split ends from my untamed hair. Na, I don't want to answer the call. So , I disconnected the line completely assured that she will understand and I will not have to come up with a lame excuse later to explain why I did not answer her call. That is what friendship for me is, just true acceptance of each other .
11.5 am: I am still in my couch but this time trying to figure what's for lunch for my family of two. I still don't feel like moving from my couch. As a sense of guilt take over me for a totally non productive morning I come up with the idea of writing something that I can still do by being on the couch. :D
So, Ladies and Gentlemen, top 5 things to have long lasting friendship that I swear by:
1.Give each other space by not seeking explanation for every activity in life.
2.Do not compare.
Right now as I right this my friends are busy working in big MNC's and here I am in my couch still not out of my pyjama and writing this. So every one is on their own time zone. Comparison is for similarity and no two person are similar.
3.Do not get Jealous
Except the fact that your best friends may have other friends too and they deserve attention just like you. Do not get jealous when your bestie is out on a shopping spree with other people. It is okay of her not to ask you.
4.Accept the differences of opinion.
Don't blow your mind trying to convince your friend over an issue that you think is good. She might not think the same and its perfectly normal. Try to respect her opinion too.
5.It is obvious that because you are friends you share common interests and might end up liking similar things. Reframe from falling for the same person and never sleep with your bestfriends spouse. :D
