The Drinkers.... Drunkards

in life •  7 years ago

While some worked their asses off

Others sat round about a table
With their bottles of beer and laughed
Then at night when the tired workers slept
The energetic drinkers attacked and took all the workers had

The workers wailed as the drinkers drank more

And made merry
At the end of the day the drinkers had the fat share of life

Authorities didn't care

Nature looked on
And karma said they'd pay oneday
Oneday huh
Oneday when Grace has snatched them

I'm not being a hypocrite

I'm not saying I am sinless
But shouldn't these drinkers pay?
For their damages like we did back in Secondary School
Shouldn't their hands be chopped off
For shedding innocent blood

They have grown vastly in numbers

And the world is gripped in fear
Very soon the younger generation
Will take them as role models

And

That day we'd know that we are doomed

Thank pal. Humbled that you passed by to read and comment. Really appreciate it

You are so welcome sir

Awsome indeed.

A nice piece. At the end of the day, it's worrying that we can't do anything about it. We can but hope the younger generation will not emulate. Looks like that's all we can do.

Nice blog

I can feel your frustration jumping off the words of your poem. The words of this poem are absolutely true. Though the Bible says vengeance is mine says the Lord, it's only natural to look up at the sky and say okay so when is this Vengeance coming. Yeah unfortunately does us no good to allow us to become bitter from the evil of others. Just stay true to your path, and one day the future will find you in a position to do something about it. Thanks for sharing it's a great poem.
