Neuroscientists have discovered what happens in our brain when we finish another person's sentence

Scientists from the universities of Berkley, Stanford and the UC Irvine Medical Center have conducted research on language and memory. According to the study, every time we complete another person's phrase, the hippocampus is activated. That is, the part of our brain brain that is associated with memory. For experts, our memory tries to fill the void of prayer.

With the support of several volunteers, neuroscientists were able to assess what happens in our brain when we complete another person's sentence. Through the investigation they discovered that our hippocampus presents activity when trying to fill that gap. Unlike the investigations that use magnetic resonances, electrodes inserted in the hippocampus of each patient were used in this study.

Each time one of the 12 participants tried to complete the sentences: "She went through the room with a ..." or "She went out in the sunlight to get ...", the electrodes showed the activity of the hippocampus. In this way, the researchers were able to record every millisecond of neuronal downloads. A much more effective study than through resonance.

10 of the 12 participants showed a similar activity, almost like a pattern, when finishing a sentence. That is, for scientists it is the same reaction that the brain has when it wants to remember something. As if it were a database that tries to find the right information. The next step is to discover how the hippocampus relates certain words to their already incorporated language, and gives them meaning.
