Today, May 20, 2018, the presidential elections are taking place, in which four candidates participate: Nicolas Maduro (Dictator and Illegitimate President), Reinaldo Quijada, Javier Bertucci and Henri Falcon (the alleged candidate of the opposition).

However, almost the majority of the country decided to remain in abstinence, that is, not go to vote. Why is this happening?

1)Corruption of the national electoral council.

The body responsible for carrying out the electoral process in a democratic and transparent manner lost its credibility long ago. The past elections that have been organized by this organism (that is to say, all of them), have always shown a complete farce and lack of justice. The figures have never been close to real, and also, they are so stupid that they have even made a mistake when announcing them on national television, saying the figures that are correct and with the winning opposition candidate, and then correcting them by granting them the same numbers of votes to the elect of the communist party.

It is evident the partialization of the national electoral council towards the dictator side, the unfair side, but even so, there is no way to avoid this because they control everything that has to do with the elections.

2)International Image.

The objective of these elections and the way they are being carried out is to show through images internationally how all the polling stations are empty, even though the government's television channels persist the news that all Venezuelans are going to vote.

3)Disagreement with all candidates.

One of the political leaders who at least gave hope was Henri Falcón, but since he already had time following him and observing his actions, it is known that even as the only relatively decent candidate he will not have the capacity to lead a country like this one. What a mastermind is needed to fight this side of corrupt politicians and assassins.

Well, for more than 15 years we have endured illegitimate and manipulated elections, of which we are already quite fed up and distrustful.

In this country is the most dangerous city in the world, Caracas (the capital of Venezuela) ... And yes, they read well, the most dangerous city in the world even when compared to countries at war. However, it is not only the capital that suffers this problem, the whole country has been affected by insecurity, the scarcity of light and water, the scarcity of food and medicines, the flight of professionals, and it is something that simply no longer It can be tolerated.

I, as a 4th year medical student, am already particularly tired of seeing people die for lack of money to buy medicines, or even having the money and not getting the same. I am tired of seeing babies die of malnutrition, since their mothers have neither education nor the ability to buy food for their children, and even so, they decide to have more than four children (as I mentioned before, lack of education). I'm tired of having to buy my gloves, injectors, face masks and surgical monkeys, which cost a lot of money because of the economic crisis but I need to get to at least learn.

The causes of unhappiness in this country are endless, but every day, they affect each one of us, even to the point of reaching the death of human beings. Meanwhile, corrupt politicians enjoy their vacations in the Caribbean with their yachts.

I only ask God for mercy, and please, let it be a different day than the last 15 years.
