How to promote your business for free.

Are you trying to get more clients for your business, or maybe start a new company? You will probably wonder how to promote your business. And if your funds are a bit scarce, traditional advertising media may not fit your current budget. Consider some of the following steps to get free advertising for your business.

  1. Offer your services for free or local organizations that benefit from them. For example, if you know how to make websites, you can offer help to a humanitarian society to set up its website.

  2. Send press releases about your business. If you're just getting started, a local newspaper may have a section to which you can send a press release. And also report your business to the local Chamber of Commerce. They like to know more about new businesses and may be the opportunity for your press release or to include a photograph in the newspaper.

  3. Get involved with civil organizations in your area. Join the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, the Women's Action Group, and meet its members. Try to get involved with these groups instead of just seeing them as an opportunity to build your business.

  4. Write articles about your area of knowledge and send them to local newspapers and magazines. Write information about your business, but not too extensive.

  5. Make classes in your community. If the area of your business involves a lot of specific knowledge, it offers free classes in local event halls. Or sign up as a tutor for community trainings at a local university.

  6. Donate a prize for a fundraiser. If you manufacture or sell a product, donate some of them, and if you dedicate yourself to the services, donate a certificate to access your services for free.

  7. Create networks with other people who have businesses compatible with yours. If you have a specialty area that other businesses do not offer, they are likely to recommend you to their clients.

  8. Offer your services at local events. Are you a makeup artist? Offer help at a local fashion event.

  9. Offers to do talks at local events or meetings. If you have a photography business, for example, you can give a talk at a local travel club about how to take good photos when traveling.

  10. Give your products or services to friends and family. It's a quick way to spread the word about a new business. It's the best advertising that exists!
