My part of the world

in life •  7 years ago

Good morning from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. This is where I live in Australian. In my introduction I was brief about the location of my home in this very big country. I am taking the opportunity this morning to share some information and photos.

This is the surf beach near our home. It is looking a rough beach right now due to cyclonic weather recently.

The Sunshine Coast is part of the South East of Queensland. It is about an hour of fast driving on the highway away from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. So it is not far to get to the big smoke. The climate is hot and humid in summer as we are situated in the sub-tropics. Thankfully winter is cooler with temperatures generally ranging from the low to the mid 20's centigrade. Trust me, it is not cold compared to other parts of the country. A lot of rain generally fall here so it is usually very green and lush.

There are plenty of birds feeding on the flowers of shrubs and trees. Lorikeets are very colourful, noisey and entertaining to watch. We have plenty that come visiting to eat the seed in our feeders and drink the nectar in the flowers.

My community has a number of bike tracks so it made perfect sense to get a bike. I cycle regularly. I never get bored with the area because there is such diversity to be enjoyed with the ocean and the land as you will see in the next picture.

I love boardwalks and this leads to a housing estate tucked away from the beach.

It is a goodbye for me now, more photos of my neck of the woods another time. Let me know if you would like to see more.

Cheers
Angie

I have been to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and a small town called Ipswich and honestly QLD was so amazing, those beaches are so beautiful and ideal for surfing and the sun always shines! Even if it rains, the sun usually comes out right away as soon as it stops, I totally miss that as we just don't get that to happen in many parts of Europe. Anyways, more posts like this one about QLD would be great!
