Now I know why this old aeroplane is parked atThe Sunshine Coast Airport~

I have come to the conclusion that wondering is akin to putting a message out to the universe. This is what I do, I quietly ask myself a question or think about something and just leave it. Eventually an answer appears, like it did with the big old cargo plane parked at The Sunshine Coast Airport.

I was not the only inquisitive beaver who wondered! Others were looking though the wire fence. There was no sign giving any over inquisitive member of the community wondering why a huge grey looking plane was sitting on the airport grounds. Couldn't miss it.

Here is a photo that I took on my bike ride yesterday afternoon because it is leaving soon.

My answer to my wondering came via the local news one night last week. The story is that this plane was built in 1978 by the Airforce and used for carrying cargo and army etc for a lot of years. Now, after a long working life doing a marvellous job t has been put to pasture. Very soon, the old Airforce cargo plane is going to be transported approximately 22km down the Coast to a town called Caloundra to the Queensland Air Museum. I have learned that the Museum obtains, restores and maintains a collection of old aircraft. It was reported that currently the old aeroplane is being prepared for transport down the motorway.

It should be interesting to see how this is going to be achieved.

I hope that I will be driving by or better still riding by when the transporting action starts. There will definitely be photos of this auspicious event.

Happiness guys.

Cheers

This reminds me a bit of the Thomas the Train stories I read the kids at bedtime every night. There are lots of retired and chatty engines that have earned their retirement in sheds.

This old cargo plane would have lots to chat about too!

Howdy there angimitchell! wow that is one BIG plane! Yes I hope you can catch that move, they are taking it by road or highway??
