WHAT IS THIS? WHAT IS IN THERE? …… the house is in a whirlwind, the 2 year old s visiting!

in life •  6 years ago  (edited)

“Grandma look in here?” as the 2 year old attempts to open the mirrored wardrobe glass doors, both hands working extra hard to make them slide open. I could see that he would not be satisfied until he peeked inside. Then every draw had to be pulled out for him to peek inside.

Never mind, the fingerprints will be cleaned off another time.

“Grandad what is in here?” The overly busy 2 year old has to look in every kitchen draws and cupboards, he was very good at checking everything out. Nothing was missed.

As quick as a wink the 2 year old was checking out the old sideboard, pulling the doors open. “Hmmm, I wonder how safe my crystal glasses and the old Royal Albert dinner set are? Don’t know where the keys are?

I am going to stay alert here just in case.

Next, the 2 year old is bouncing on his bed pointing to the wardrobe for the soft toy dog that sings “I’ve got a lot of loving for you….”

He has a memory as good as an elephant!

“We go to the beach now?” “Eat a banana now?” "Grapes, milk, cake...."

Hang onto my hat this little family visit is going to be an on the go hands-on visit.

I had forgotten how active and overly inquisitive 2 years are, busy touching, looking and talking. Nothing is sacred! The world is to be explored.

The family left after a few days! Exhausted and lying in a heap I could only feel happy to have had the 2 year old filling the house with action, laughing, questions and fun. They are the best teachers reminding us of the joys of life.

Cheers
