My flight from Calabar in Southern Nigeria yesterday was smooth. It offered another opportunity to fly above the clouds on a hot sunny afternoon; to view numerous body of waters snaking as they course right below the huge flying Boeing 707. The occasional bumps on the cloudy 'road', the descent, the occasional fright in the voice a passenger nearby, all add to the beauty of flying.
The view is always so beautiful especially if you take your mind off the fact that you are flying above the ground at thousands of feet and your life is no longer in your hands. I am still waiting for my first long haul flight outside Nigeria; until then I'll keep looking out the window of the Boeing or Airbus during my less frequent local flights.
Next time you fly hope you would not mind sitting by the window and sharing your snapshots of the world outside the small window.
