These anti-stress foods support BODY & MIND

1. Nuts, Seeds & Kernels
Nuts are ideal in several respects: They supply large amounts of B vitamins, as well as magnesium, potassium and vitamin E. In addition, they are ideal as snacks on the go, vegan, gluten-free and available everywhere. Seeds also contain the micronutrients mentioned above and can be easily integrated into the diet, for example as muesli topping.

2. Green Vegetables
Green vegetables such as kale, spinach, broccoli and chard provide not only a lot of Magnesium but also numerous B Vitamins as well as Calcium, Potassium, Vitamin C and Iron. Iron supports memory performance, allowing you to work more concentrated.

3. Bananas
Bananas are a real “happy food“, because they not only contain nerve-boosting nutrients such as Vitamin B6, Magnesium and Potassium, but also Tryptophan. This amino acid is essential for the production of the happiness hormone Serotonin.

4. Dark chocolate & Cocoa
Are Chocolates all the same? Only Dark Chocolate with a high cocoa content of 85% or even cocoa nibs are considered healthy nerve food. Why? Cocoa also contains a certain amount of Tryptophan, which is required for the formation of Serotonin.

5. Oat Flakes
A portion of Oatmeal for breakfast is the perfect preparation for a stressful day. The reason: The healthy flakes contain lots of Vitamin B1 and B3, as well as Tryptophan, which is needed for the formation of Serotonin. The complex, long-chain carbs also protect you from annoying cravings.

6. Salmon
About half of the our brain and nervous system consists of fat. Accordingly, healthy fats are important for strong nerves. Fish such as Salmon, Herring or Tuna contain many omega-3 fatty acids. They reduce the hormone adrenaline released during stress and thus have a calming effect.

7. Pulses
A meal with plenty of ulses makes you resistant to stress. Lentils and peas not only contain large amounts of potassium, but also a high content of magnesium, iron and zinc. And it goes even further: pulses can also score points with the valuable B vitamins.

With a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, cereals and pulses, you can prepare yourself for stressful situations. Healthy food for a quick mind and a strong body!
