GRANDPAS HOMESTEAD THE ROOSTER

in life •  8 years ago

HELLO STEEMIANS,

Grandpa Had A Big Barn On His

Homestead. The Barn Was Where

Grandpa and Grandma Kept Most

Of The Homestead Animals,

Cows, White Chickens,

 Black And Brown Hens

Pigs, Billy Goats

And Nanny Goats, Even Rabbits

And One Horse,

And The Rooster, Of Course

Every Morning Exactly As The

Clock Struck 6 AM

The Homestead Rooster Would

Scream

Cock A Doodle Do

Cock A Doodle Do

Cock A Doodle Do

Wait A Few Seconds

Then One More

Cock A Doodle Do

By This Time Grandpa

Was Up, Getting Ready To

Go Out There To Get Eggs

Inside The Barn

 The Rooster

Would Be Waiting For

Grandpa,

Grandpa Would Go About His

Business And Feed The Hens

and Chickens,

Gather Eggs

Then,

All Of A Sudden

Wack

The Rooster Would

Sneak Up Behind Grandpa

In The Corner And Fly off

Of A Board Nailed To The Wall

About one To two Feet Away

And Go Right Towards

Grandpas Head

Grandpa Wore A Hat,

So, It Didn't Hurt Him

One Time, After About A Year  Of

Having This Rooster,

The Rooster

Came Up Behind Grandpa And

Whacked  Him On The Head

 This Time Knocking His

Hat Off, Why How Brave Of

Rooster!  Not For Long...

That Same Day,

Grandma Saw A Change

 In Grandpa, A Scratch

On Grandpas Left Cheek About

two Inches Long, Grandma Asked

Grandpa How He Got The Scratch?

Grandpa Of Course Blew It Off

And Grandma Of Course Persisted

Til She Got An Answer After Supper

"The Rooster, The Rooster Did It

To Me"

Grandpa Blurted..

Grandma Then Sat The Dishes Down On

The Table, Wiped Her Hands Off On Her

Apron, Held Her Head Up High

And Went Out The Back Door To

The Hens And Chickens Straight

To The Rooster Hang Out Board

And Yelled At The Rooster

"Now I Told You

Leave Pa Alone And There Will

Be No More Roosters"

The Rooster Poked His Shoulders

Out And Stuck His Held High Peering

At Grandma With Her hands On Her Hips

Then

While Grandma Stood There, Not Moving

The Rooster Acting All Guilty Backed Down

Looked Down At The Ground And Could Make

Eye Contact With Grandma Again

Grandma Then Left The Barn Leaving

The Rooster Alone In His Rooster Guilt

The Next Day Grandpa Goes About His

Business And The Rooster Sitting

 On The Board

On The Wall, Not Dare Moving An Inch

The Rooster Never Attacked Grandpa Again

There Is One Question About

The Rooster That Remains

How Did Grandma Even Know That The Rooster Was Doing This?

Grandpa Never Leaked A Word For A Whole Year, He Was Good

At Dodging,  But,  She Knew..

Let's Just Say...

Grandma Had A Way Of Finding Things Out,

A Mystery To This Day

And

Of Course

No More Roosters!

A Happy Ending For All

Even

The Rooster!
