📢New Era: Cars (Land Rover Discovery 2.0 4WD)

The goal of the company was to create the best family SUV. There is nothing to say about space. In fact, seven people can sit in the car, and even behind it is an average enough space because the roof again is typically raised in the rear. And since the classic doors were used (the old one is supposed to be too rusty), an electrically movable internal shelf, which should carry 200 kilograms, was added, so that fast picnics and other activities are still possible. By the way, when you pull all the backrests in the second and third row, the luggage space measures as much as 2,406 liters!

The driver is equally well taken care of as the Range Rover, the central screen is large and very transparent, it's fine to have the right buttons at the bottom for quicker adjustment, but it's not nice, for example, the plastic on the steering wheel seems cheap and sometimes prone when Squeeze a button or a little more notice the steering wheel. The other materials are of high quality, in fact, the discovery lost some of the charms of the machine, because it became too similar to its more expensive brothers with the range rover badge. Probably the owner's comfort will not disturb. You can use tablet, pc and phone anywhere in the car as it has usb slots at each seat, even  in the third row.

 No drama can shake Discovery; leave in the terrain response program, the sensors detect what kind of drive you are driving, and you just rotate the steering wheel and press the accelerator pedal. Modern terrain cars are already so effective that they can actually be driven by everyone and do not need any special knowledge for field trips. It is true that this is a Discovery! The distance from the ground with an air suspension is as much as 284 millimeters, and the entry and exit angles can be checked even on the screen. The following information will be usefull, because you can also drive trough the water: You can go in 90 centimeters deep! They said that there should be no more, because otherwise cars would swim, but Discovery would go trough.

When driving in a difficult field, All Terrain Progress Control helps you to set speeds between 2 and 30 km / h so that you can only work on finding the right route. And for the real adventurers it is important that you can also think of a reducer, in the heart of which is an electronic differential. It can lock the 50:50 ratio between the axles before slipping, so as not to accidentally stay on some difficult transition ground. To turn on the gearbox, you will, of course, have to stop and move the gear knob to N (like Neutral). Also, in the slippery terrain, the lowered downhill system will help you in the lowering of the slope, as it is extremely effective in stopping the individual wheel, setting the speed (as with cruise control) and dealing with possible obstacles in front of the car.

About the discovery I could really write in the superlatives themselves and very long, as long as we have a comfortable ride in the field. But you must know that this is a huge car, just a little less than five meters in length. Compared to the previous generation, it is almost half a ton easier because they have used aluminum and a self-supporting bodywork, and of course there is more room in the cabin, and above all, it is better on the road. The front has double triangular guides, a rear multifunction steering wheel and the previously mentioned adjustable air suspension. Depending on the dimensions and weight, it's good, but not great, because it still works cumbersome when you enter the bend. "Disco" does not even want to be particularly dynamic, but above all undemanding to drive everywhere. Still, I would like more comfort on the worse roads, where you will probably spend most of your time with it. The suspension is too rigid with such rims, the range sport does much better, but it is true that in the case of Discovery, it is adapted for seven people with luggage and top performance on the ground.

If I had money, I would choose a three-liter six-cylinder diesel, but I can also compliment this with two liters of volume and two turbines. It's not so pleasant to listen to as a bigger one, it's still a little more stressful when you want it the most, but it's still powerful enough for such a mass. We did not surprise with consumption, but a good 10 liters per 100 kilometers we expected on the test because we did not have much to rely on the field, which means that the average on our measurements grows by as much as 20 percent. The eight-speed automatic transmission with a lever or electronic button, which we already used, is given a great deal, even though in this case, we would expect a classic lever, because at least it is basically a more working machine than the other range and land rover. The gearbox only interrupts the occasional twisting between the running and sometimes (too) long gear shifting in the reverse and the rear.

Maybe another word or two about feeling behind the wheel. The driver here really has a sense of driving a tank. Already during the crawl on the seat it knows that a certain concrete seating position is waiting for him, then it means that he will exchange beautiful or ugly views with the drivers of the vans on the same level, while the elbows on both sides can have elbows alongside the wide center backrest. You have read it, and on the left side there is an additional movable support between the door and the seat, if you want to drive on long journeys by holding your left hand low on the steering wheel there somewhere at the seventh hour.

 🍀 PROS:  

• The air suspension offers great flexibility
• For high-end field ventures, powerful programs and reducer are available
• A huge cabin can also be carried comfortably by seven passengers
• USB sockets for each passenger
• The position behind the wheel causes the driver to be too self-confident

 🍁 CONS: 

• Mitigation could be slightly more comfortable on the worse roads
• The back of the car looks like a too crowded backpack

There is practically no better car on the market for adventurous family. If you can come up with 82 thousand euros.
