Meeting Dalai Lama- Once in a lifetime experience

Recently my sister got married in my hometown in India. My hometown is Dharamshala, the same place where Dalai Lama lives. Since childhood I had seen his motorcade fly across my city and he would look out of his car and greet the peoples. My grandfather had met him and used to tell how kind and nice person he was. I was yet to meet him personally as I never got time or procrastinated about it

This time it was a special occasion. Since the newly wed couple was in town, we reached to Dalai Lama's residence on a fine morning to seek his blessings

The process of meeting him is not well defined. Most of the time he is on world tour. But on other occasions he gives teachings and talks in his temple in Dharamsala. One way is to be a part of his teaching and meet him there. Other way is to reach out to his security team at his residence and ask about his availability in free time. Since I am a local guy, I used my contacts to get in.

Then I spoke to him about my love for Tibetan people and "Free Tibet" Movement. He asked me about my passions & we spoke about Chemistry, Rock music, International peace and life in Europe.

In a small meeting, i was left in a an awe of this inspirational person. It is wonderful how having suffered and fought soo much, he still has a positive energy and light inside him.
