While cutting through a tire to make a planter for my garden, I slipped with my Stanley knife and cut into my thumb.
I quickly reacted to the injury by putting pressure on the wound and running into the house to wash my hands.
I gave to wound a good clean, but as a precaution I phoned the doctors to ask their advice.
They asked me what I had done and where on my body, so I explained to them what I had done, they asked the condition of the blade, and I explained that it was old and rusty.
I knew what they were going to say about it, "You need a tetanus jab" and booked me in to see a nurse.
The cut was deep but I used some tape and covered the wound with a giant plaster to keep it covered.
This morning I went into the doctors for my injection and it was something that I didn't expect.
Because of the battle with Covid 19, you are asked questions before your even aloud in the doctors, then you are given a face mask and gloves to make sure that you safer while on the premises.
I was called through by a lovely nurse who asked what arm I would like it in, I chose my left arm as I am right-handed and without me even been able to prepare myself for the injection she stuck it in my arm.
It was a small scratch but after about 2 to 3 minutes the pain kicked in, I had no idea that it was going to hurt so much,
and I even thought to myself at the time that the cut hurt less than the injection.
I drove home to the comfort of my own home when I realized that the pain had gone away, I thought that it wasn't that bad and got on with my day.
But after an hour I couldn't even lift the spade I was using in the garden and my arm had fallen asleep as if someone had punched it hard.
It has been 3 hours now and I have feeling back in my arm, but I wish I hadn't started a project that caused so much pain.
stay well, stay safe.
Dang, ouch. stay safe out there. Don’t want to being going to the hospital these days with all the craziness.
